歷史與我們現在以至將來的命運攸關。英國作家奧威爾說：誰能控制過去，就能控制將來；而誰能控制現在，就能控制過去。
身份認同建基於歷史認同。台灣人希望為自己慶生，香港越來越多人想有本土歷史的話語權，都是為了要擺脫被控制的身份。
最近，一家網店以眾籌方式，推出一個「平行時空裏的2017」月曆，以插畫師的12幅插圖，繪畫香港本土歷史紀事，有開埠紀念，港大奠基，廉署成立，香港重光，雨傘運動……。藉此「窺見97前『努力興建』97後『盡情破壞』的荒謬」。更想藉這個月曆，「引發更多香港人去整理、發掘和保存香港本土歷史」。眾籌能否成功，也就是這個月曆能否出版，端視到這個月底為止有多少人認購了。讀友可以瀏覽網站http://www.proj.hk/CalendarPrologue。
